Hazleton Creek Properties (“HCP”) is the largest beneficial use site in Pennsylvania. HCP is an abandoned mine site that has been severely impacted by previous deep and surface mining, located in Hazleton, PA.
The site is a brownfield site and is Designated Special Industrial Area (SIA) by the Governor of Pennsylvania giving the site priority attention for remediation. HCP is authorized to conduct the site reclamation/remediation using the residual materials approved under corresponding permits.
HCP Capabilities Include: over 277 acre site of un-reclaimed abandoned mine pits and spoil piles, designation as Special Industrial Area by PA Act 12, designation as Brownfield Action Team (BAT), serviced by NS Railroad, permitted to accept numerous beneficial use materials (please contact for specifics).
Acceptable Materials for Beneficial Use: Non-Hazardous Contaminated Soils, Urban Historic Fill, Concrete, Brick, Block, Asphalt, Coal Ash, Dredged Sediments, Flue Gas Desulfurization Gypsum (FGD), and Crushed Glass *Cannot accept MSW
