Tunnel Hill Reclamation Landfill (“THR”) is a fully compliant, Subtitle D Landfill. THR is directly rail served, and features one of only two fully-enclosed permitted rail unloading buildings in Ohio, the other being Sunny Farms, as well as the only certified on-site rail scale in Ohio, allowing customers the added benefit of quicker cycling of railcars and weighing in and out so they are only billed for the waste being disposed of.
THR is in full compliance with the Ohio Environmental Protection Agency regulations and is permitted to receive waste from CERCLA (Comprehensive Environmental Response, Compensation, and Liability Act) sites based on an approval received from the United States Environmental Protection Agency. Since the Ohio Central Railroad is serviced by the CSX, Canadian Pacific and Norfolk Southern railroads, there are very few locations that cannot be serviced by THR.
Tunnel Hill Reclamation Landfill Capabilities Include: 2,200 acre site with permitable capacity of 150 million yards, a daily maximum of 8,000 tons received, serviced daily by Ohio Central Railroad with access to CSX, NS and Canadian Pacific, a remaining life of 100+ years based on current fill rates and CERCLA approved.
